(KSL News) The Humane Society of Utah says its members are horrified and outraged by the torturous killing of a Washington County horse and are offering a hefty reward for information about the case.
The horse, Crookneck, was shot more than 50 times in his stomach and back. His owner says Crookneck suffered a slow and agonizing death.
The Humane Society reminds everyone that Utah is one of only seven states where this kind of atrocity is only a misdemeanor. "Anybody who could do what was done to Crookneck has severe psychological problems and should be held strictly accountable," it said in a statement.
The Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed Crookneck.
If you have information on this crime, please contact the Humane Society at (801) 261-2919.
The horse's owner is also offering a reward.
