(KSL News) Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a boarding house to go up in flames this morning.

It appears the flames broke out on the second floor of the building at 100 South and 700 East and quickly spread.

Three families were in the building at the time, but they were able to get out unharmed. Crews contained the fire to just the one building.

Damages are estimated at a half-million dollars.

Police had to arrest one person who tried to re-enter the burning building. The Red Cross is helping to find shelter for the displaced residents.
