SALT LAKE CITY -- This Saturday comes with a dilemma for a lot of LDS University of Utah fans. The football game has been scheduled for 5 p.m., but the LDS priesthood session starts at 6 p.m.

A young single adult stake that is housed in the institute building says members of its stake do not need to skip the priesthood session or the game. It will replay the session at 9 p.m., after the game.

The PAC 12 set the time for the game. People at the institute say there are many LDS students involved with the game who would benefit from the later showing of the priesthood session.

"I like that they are trying to accommodate both because it's a big fan base," said Charlie Morris, a freshman at the U.

The word is quickly spreading. Scott Ho heard it from his roommate. He's going to the game then to the priesthood session. Clayton Russell's institute teacher told him about it.

"I think it's cool that they are working something out, because priesthood is important and Utah football is important," Russell said.

However, he said he'll probably stick with tradition and go to dinner then priesthood with his dad.

The scheduling is not just to be nice. Sixteen wards attend here and there are major parking concerns with two events at the same time. In addition to parking, there are LDS students involved with the game itself.

Grant Anderson, director of the Salt Lake University Institute of Religion, says the stake, not the institute, is sponsoring the event for stake members.
