Tom Callan, KSL Newsradio A woman on a bicycle tried to rob two businesses on the west side of Salt Lake this morning, with mixed results.
Police say 40-year-old Marka Deoro Slade first went to a dry cleaner on 820 W. 700 North. She pulled out a gun and demanded cash.
They refused to give her any money, so she got back on her bike and pedaled to a smoke shop down the block. There the employees handed over a small amount of cash and then called police when she left.
Officers caught up with her a few blocks away.
Detective Jared Wihongi with the Salt Lake Police Department says she is charged with five robberies, including the Blue Boutique on North Temple.
