TOOELE COUNTY -- The Tooele County Sheriff's Office dispatch confirms a helicopter has crashed at the Tooele Valley Airport in Erda.

The Tooele County dispatch center received a call about the crash around 8:30 Tuesday morning.

Deputies found two people inside the helicopter on the north end of the runway when they arrived on the scene. The aircraft was manned by two pilots who were performing additional training. Neither was injured.

The pilot operating the helicopter was practicing "touch and goes" at the time of the crash. The last "touch down" landing was extremely hard and broke the helicopter apart.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident to determine an official cause. Emergency and hazmat crews have responded due to leaking fuel.

Upper Limit Aviation, based in Salt Lake City, owns the helicopter.
