SALT LAKE CITY — Police on Sunday identified the woman killed Saturday in a Sugar House park.
The body of Kristine Marie Gabel, 45, was found about 2:40 p.m. in a restroom in Fairmont Park, 2225 S. 1040 East. There were no witnesses to the homicide, but police are looking for someone who may have been injured in a struggle, Salt Lake Police Lt. Shawn Josephson said.
He did not disclose what kind of injuries Gabel had and did not have information on why she was at the park. The medical examiner is determining the cause and manner of death. Gabel did not have a fixed address, Josephson said.
The park was reopened Sunday, but the bathroom and surrounding area were still roped off. Josephson said detectives expected to complete their work at the scene later Sunday.
