Carole Mikita ReportingFans of the C.S.Lewis book series "The Chronicles of Narnia" are already buzzing about the premiere of the film, 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". Members of two faiths are using the premiere as a way of continuing to "bridge the religious divide" in our state.

The tickets are free for an opening night screening. The Evangelical group, Standing Together Ministries, and a Latter-day Saints have shared the cost for a theatre. These two faiths disagree on many points in their beliefs, but about the works of C.S. Lewis, a man of faith, and this family-friendly film they do agree.

Members of each faith recognize the religious overtones in the film and they look at this as an opportunity for not only dialogue but friendship. Standing Together Ministries is the group that condemned the protests of the Street Preachers Fellowship during LDS General Conference and since then, the two have looked for opportunities to come together.

Rev. Gregory Johnson, President, Standing Together: "So, our desire is not to minimize those differences or soft-petal those differences or just kind of put them aside but, really to say where are there ways where we can responsibly, in a mature, gracious, respectful way, engage one another?"

The hope, Rev. Johnson says, is that Evangelicals will bring a Latter-day Saint friend and vice versa to watch the film together

Free tickets are available at midnight tonight. There will be 155 pairs, two per person for the opening night screening at The Gateway at 7 pm.
