EAGLE MOUNTAIN -- An Eagle Mountain man who admitted to beating his 9-year-old daughter with a belt for not finishing her homework has been sentenced.

Fourth District Judge Claudia Laycock ordered Robert Tuttle, 40, to complete 240 hours of community service, three years on probation and pay a fine of $1,173.

He has also been ordered to attend parenting and anger management classes recommended by his probation officer.

Utah County sheriff's deputies say Tuttle told them in February that he had whipped the girl at least 10 times.
