UTAH COUNTY -- A hang glider pilot died at the Point of the Mountain Saturday following a collision with a paraglider.
"The hang gliders came in to do a closer landing, and the paraglider bumped up and they collided in the air," explained Sgt. Rhett Williams of the Utah County Sheriff's Office.
After the two riders hit each other, Williams says the hang glider fell to the ground.
The pilot of the paraglider, 40-year-old Virgil Davis, is a physician and immediately began CPR. However, the hang glider pilot, 65-year-old Gordon Boyce of Midvale, died from the impact.
Davis went to the hospital with minor injuries.
