Mitt Romney doesn't like John McCain's immigration reform compromise. So McCain's firing back at Romney "the hunter" and Romney "the flip-flopper." "In the case of Governor Romney, um, you know maybe I should wait a couple of weeks and see if it changes, because it's changed in less than a year from his position before," McCain says.
McCain tells reporters in a conference call that maybe Romney's solution will be "to get out his small varmint gun and drive those Guatemalans off his lawn."
Meanwhile, the numbers are favoring Romney in an early primary state. Mitt Romney has a strong lead in Iowa. A new poll shows he has 30 percent support among caucus goers, followed by John McCain with 18 percent.
ABC's Sam Donaldson tells "Utah's Morning News" Romney has appealed to the Republican Right. "He's on the same page with them. And I would think, you know, at the moment that Romney is the man that they would coalesce around."
Romney gets 34 percent of the vote among potential straw poll voters in Iowa. The straw poll is in August, and it often predicts the winner of the Iowa caucus.
