(KSL News) Utah is bucking a national trend with more men graduating from college than women.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in 2004, 57 percent of bachelor's degrees nationwide were earned by women.
In Utah, there are more male college students and more men graduating from college. According to the Utah System of Higher Education, only 48 percent of graduates are women.
Some higher education officials say the imbalance may be caused by the fact that some women drop out of school when they get married.
According to census figures, the average age for a woman in Utah to marry is 21.9. Nationwide it's 25.1.
