(KSL News) -- Two Utah men have died while climbing in Alaska.

Andre Callari of Salt Lake and Brian Postlethwait of Park City died in an avalanche on Mount Barrille earlier this week. Witnesses saw the two men begin the climb on Tuesday, leaving their skis at the base of the route. When they didn't return, someone contacted park rangers.

Whiteout conditions prevented crews from reaching the men until yesterday.
