LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A jury has acquitted a Logan pain doctor of felony and misdemeanor sex abuse charges stemming from allegations that he fondled his patients.
After 18 hours of deliberations a jury of six women and two men issued the verdict in 1st District Court yesterday.
Raymond Bedell, an osteopathic physician, was charged with three counts of 2nd-degree felony forcible sex abuse that could have brought him up to 30 years in jail. A misdemeanor charge was also dismissed.
Bedell is still facing a sentence of up to one year in jail in a separate case.
In March a jury acquitted Bedell of three felonies, but convicted him on one count of sexual battery.
Bedell says he relieved by the acquittal but the professional costs of two trials has left him ruined.
