SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Dozens of Iraqi refugees are expected to arrive in Utah this fall.
Local refugee resettlement workers say the exact number and arrival date are still uncertain.
Aden Batar is the director of immigration and resettlement at Catholic Community Services in Salt Lake City. Batar says all their office has been told is to prepare.
Patrick Poulin, the resettlement director of the International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City, says his agency will likely resettle 20 to 30 refugees. He expects Catholic Community Services will see roughly that same amount.
There are now an estimated 2 million displaced Iraqis currently living other countries.
