(KSL News) The performer who's become a hit in Las Vegas impersonating Elvis Presley is in Utah this weekend cutting scenes for a new movie about the rock n' roll king.
Complete with the voice and gestures that were part of the Elvis legend, Matt Lewis has become recognized as one of the best Elvis impersonators in the country.
In Orem tonight, makers of the film "Tears of a King" were fitting Lewis with a prosthesis to help him take on the appearance of an older, heavier Elvis. Fighting drugs and alcohol, Presley allegedly was exploring spiritual philosophies near the end of his life which is one of the themes in the movie.
Actor Matt Lewis says, "It's something I can put on and take off. When the director says ‘cut,' I'm done."
Lewis will be returning to Salt Lake in July to perform at Jordan High School Centennial Reunion. Two-hundred-thousand former students have been invited to the two-day event which will celebrate every year of the high school since it began in 1907.
