OREM, Utah (AP) -- In order to make the change from Utah Valley State College to Utah Valley University, the Orem school needs to fill 90 positions by this fall.

The school is scheduled to become a university by July 2008 and the hiring boom is needed to lower the ratio of classes taught by adjunct faculty.

Positions include 40 faculty, 16 academic and support advisers, 14 instructional and academic support staff and 20 student and institutional support staff positions.

The school has begun a nationwide search to fill the faculty positions, but says qualified adjunct faculty can apply.
