(KSL News) We're already paying more than $3 for a gallon of unleaded gas in Utah. Now, an anti-tax lobbying group is advocating increasing our gas tax.
The Utah Taxpayers Association suggested a 25-cent-per-gallon bump to pay for transportation projects. Currently, the state is being forced to shift money from sales tax to pay for road and transit construction.
The proposed tax increase would more than double what we pay now in gas tax. The association says it could generate more than $350 million.
