(KSL News) Ogden kicked off an environmental initiative today, calling on residents and businesses alike to sign up for renewable energy.
Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey launched the campaign to get at least five percent of the city to sign up for the Blue Sky program.
By joining the volunteer program, power customers agree to pay a bit more for electricity generated in cleaner, non-poluting ways, like windmills.
The city itself has signed up to supply 19 percent of the electricity used by city facilities through the Blue Sky program.
