SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A mother and son are refusing to leave a mobile-home park that is being cleared to build 29 upscale homes.
Jo Anne McVinnie claims the developer of the suburban property intentionally inflicted emotional distress on her and her son, Jonathan. She is asking for $20,000.
In response to McVinnie's lawsuit, the developer has started eviction proceedings.
The 20-acre site changed hands last August, and the new owner plans to build homes as soon as the land is cleared.
Arbor Management has paid $430,000 for the relocation of the park's residents. The developer says it has done everything required by the law while relocating the park's residents.
