SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman who used to work with Nathan Sloop says there's no way he has a mental illness, even though he may try to use something like that as a defense.

Laura, who didn't want her last name used, says she started working with Nathan Sloop in September 2009. He taught classes to insurance agents on how to pass a test.
"He was very together," Laura says. "He dressed in Armani-type suits. He had gold cuff links. He was very, very well put together."
On Wednesday, during KSL Newsradio's "The Doug Wright Show," Laura said that Sloop was also well-spoken and knew how to beat the system. [CLICK HERE to listen to Doug Wright's entire interview with Laura]
She says she was shocked and horrified when she learned of his arrest because he hadn't seemed like the kind of guy that could do anything like that.
Still, Laura says she laughed when she heard about a possible insanity defense.
"I will never believe that he has any sort of mental illness," she says.
