(KSL News) Utah's ski slopes are clearing off, and Ski Utah reports good numbers this season despite lower snow totals.

Powder this season totals about 360 inches. Last year's record-breaking year reached 600 inches. Without powder from Mother Nature, Utah resorts responded by making their own.

The President of Ski Utah, Nathan Rafferty, said, "Snowbasin made 50 percent more snow this year than they did during the Olympic year, and they had to make a lot of snow on that downhill course for the Olympic year. So our resorts really stepped up."

Rafferty believes this season will rank among the top three for Utah.

Ski Utah is already preparing for next season by unveiling a new logo today. The logo combines a mountain image with a snowflake. Designers hope the logo represents Utah and the greatest snow on Earth.
