(KSL News) A search will continue today for a 16-year-old boy who escaped from police custody. The boy was being transported to the South Salt Lake Juvenile Detention center after a court appearance when he was somehow able to slip out of one of his leg shackles and take off running.
Officers used dogs and a Utah Highway Patrol helicopter to search for the boy but called off the search at dark.
The boy was being held on minor drug and immigration charges.
