Richard Piatt and Sheryl Worsley ReportingIt looks like the Sean Hannity-Rocky Anderson debate might happen after all. Hannity and Anderson agreed to a date, time and format. But their exchange, which aired on KSL Newsradio's Doug Wright show today, was sprinkled with barbs.
It's about round five in the fight between Rocky Anderson and Sean, but the two agreed on today's Doug Wright Show on a few details for the fight in person but not before the two got some jabs in while talking about an upcoming conversation.
Doug Wright does not want to moderate this upcoming debate. Today's exchange pretty much spells out why. Sean and Rocky just can't resist going after each other, even when it comes to some pretty basic stuff.
Sean Hannity: "Is the mayor really there or is he holding a protest or having a press conference?"
Doug Wright: "He's right here."
Rocky Anderson: "Hey Sean, I'm right here doing the city's business."
Sean Hannity: "Oh, it's about time."
It was a 20-minute exchange peppered with insults back and forth as they honed details of the debate format.
Sean Hannity: "You get 15 minutes to question me. I get 15 minutes to question you. Do you agree?"
Rocky Anderson: "But it's going to be questions and answers, not interruptions, not screaming over me the Hannity way."
Sean Hannity: "As long as you don't filibuster and take up the whole 15 minutes. You have to answer them quickly."
Then, there was the question of what time the debate should start.
Sean Hannity: "I know you have no commitments because you have time to travel all over and hold protests. But I actually have jobs I have to take care of."
Sean Hannity: "Absolutely hilarious, I know."
Rocky Anderson: "You don't know what you're talking about."
Sean Hannity: "Maybe you and I should do it individually and we can take the staffers out of it completely."
Rocky Anderson: "Well, I don't know if I can stand to talk to you that much, but that's fine."
Sean Hannity: "That's pretty insulting, Mr. Mayor don't you think?"
Rocky Anderson: "Well you've been nothing but insulting up to now, Sean. And you've been dishonest."
Sean Hannity: "Are you calling me a liar, sir?"
Rocky Anderson: "Absolutely."
Sean Hannity: "OK, well I'll save my ammunition for the night of the debate."
There was even a rebuke to the rebuttal offer.
Rocky Anderson: "That's not a debate, that's a Sean Hannity interrupt-fest."
Sean Hannity: "What, you're afraid to answer questions Mr. Mayor?"
Rocky Anderson: "No, I want you to come here and debate and not be interrupting."
Sean Hannity: "You want a joint press conference. Is [that] what you want?"
Rocky Anderson: "I don't want a press conference."
Sean Hannity: "Oh, that's right. You're the master of press conferences and rushing to the media, I forgot."
Actually, they did make some decisions today. The Rocky Anderson-Sean Hannity event will be held May 4 at 8p.m. Each will make a 30-minute presentation about the war and impeachment. They will ask questions of each other for 15 minutes. There will be 15 minutes of questions from the moderator.
The moderator has not been decided; neither has the location, the price of admission or the charity. That means more Hannity-Anderson debating over the debate.
