(KSL News) The water in a Heber City neighborhood may not look refreshing, but it is safe to drink. Heber City Public Works and the Wasatch County Health Department both tested samples from the neighborhood and say the murky water does not present a health hazard.
The water in dozens of Heber City homes is a brownish-gold color. Resident Sariah Correa said, "We can't drink this water. We can't bathe in it. I don't do my laundry here."
City officials say the problem started when the city flushed its fire hydrants for annual maintenance. That disturbed rust and sediment in the pipes, and caused the murky water.
