VERNAL, Utah (AP) -- State officials are investigating pollution reports made near two eastern Utah rivers this week.
Enduring Resources, a Colorado-based energy exploration company, reported a leak of drilling fluids from a natural gas well that spread toward the White River this week.
The Bureau of Land Management says crews from the company stopped the leak a few hundred feet from the river. The BLM is investigating the leak and has take several water samples from the area.
The White River flows from Colorado into Utah where it empties into the Green River.
The Green River was the subject of another investigation after someone reported a foul-smelling foam on the river March 12.
Samples from the river have shown nothing harmful, but officials with the state Division of Water Quality say a communication breakdown kept them from testing the water until eight days after the report.
