UINTAH COUNTY -- Car repairs shook a Uintah County neighborhood and sent three men to the hospital.
The blast happened near 475 North and 2500 West in the town of Maeser near Vernal.
Firefighters say the trio was trying to cut a gas tank from a Chevrolet Suburban when the tank ignited and exploded at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.
All of the men had second- and third-degree burns over a significant part of their bodies.
Brett Bradley and Kelly Beachum, both 20 years old, and 23-year-old Thad Bonner are being treated at the University of Utah Burn Center. We are told Beachum and and Bonner are in stable condition. No word on Bradley.
