(KSL News) West Valley City welcomed home its city manager on Monday. Wayne Pyle had been serving on active military duty in Afghanistan.
Pyle serves with a civil affairs unit and spent 11 months in Afghanistan helping with an analysis of redevelopment in the country.
He also helped establish emergency response centers, similar to 911 centers in the United States.
Pyle says he saw a lot of progress while he was there but says there is still a long way to go.
