NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Denver Nuggets say JaVale McGee, who has missed 26 straight games, will be in uniform for Wednesday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
McGee has not played since Dec. 5, largely because of a strained muscle in his lower left leg. More recently, he was taken off of Denver's injury report but still held out by coach Brian Shaw.
However, McGee participated in game-planning during a shootaround earlier Wednesday and then was cleared to play after pre-game warm-ups, increasingly his chances of getting back on the court.
McGee had one of his best games this season in a victory over the Pelicans in Denver on Nov. 21. He scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in about 19 minutes coming off the bench.
