SPRINGVILLE — An Oregon man was arrested after police say he came to Utah County over the weekend to sell drugs to patrons attending the Festival of Colors in Spanish Fork.

Sean Robert McDonald, 19, of Bend, Oregon, along with a 17-year-old boy and two girls, ages 17 and 16, were arrested Sunday near Hobble Creek Canyon.

The group was stopped by a sheriff's deputy who saw them driving on the walkway. When he approached their car, the deputy noticed "a strong odor of marijuana," said Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon.

"When deputies searched the car they found a large quantity of six different types of drugs. Quantities of drugs found included 727 ecstasy pills, 2 grams of cocaine, eight vials of LSD (acid), 47 grams of marijuana, 12 Xanax pills, 22 grams of dabs (processed marijuana or marijuana hash oil).

"These quantities made up over 2,200 individual doses of drugs with a street value of approximately $25,000," Cannon said in a prepared statement.

Investigators believe McDonald came to Utah to attend the Festival of Colors at the Krishna Temple near Spanish Fork with the intention of selling his drugs, the sergeant said. About $1,200 in cash was also seized.

McDonald was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of DUI and several drug possession, distribution and paraphernalia-related charges.

The three teens were each issued citations for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Cannon said the parents of the two girls thought the girls were attending the Colors Festival in Portland, Oregon.

"They did not know their daughters were in Utah," he said. "The mother of one of the girls drove to Utah and took her daughter and the other two juveniles back to Oregon."

The Festival of Colors was held Saturday and Sunday.
