There were no surprises from the Mountain West this week as everyone performs as expected. The spreads on the games were pretty accurate to how they ended. The week started Friday night with Utah State beating Arkansas State in a 34-20 nail-biter that the final score doesn't reflect.
New Mexico went to Rutgers and shocked everyone by jumping up 21-0 in the first quarter. Rutgers stormed back and scored 31 unanswered points to win 37-28.
UNLV went to Central Michigan, which upset then-ranked Oklahoma State, two weeks ago. UNLV fans were pleasantly surprised to see their Rebels leading twice during the first half. The joy wouldn't last though as Central Michigan outscored UNLV 16-0 in the second half before going on to win 44-21.
Fresno State didn't score until Toledo had already put up 38 points. The ending score favored Toledo, 52-17.
San Diego State had no problem beating Northern Illinois in scoring the first 28 points of the game and winning 42-28. The win put the Aztecs in the AP Top 25.
Colorado State scored the first 38 points in its 47-21 rolling of FCS Northern Colorado.
Wyoming also faced an FCS opponent UC Davis. The Cowboys had no problems as they rolled UC Davis 45-22.
Nevada got off to a quick start and didn't look back, scoring the first 31 points against the visiting Buffalo Bulls. Nevada won 38-14 at home.
San Jose State didn't make it easy, but the Spartans ran out of steam in the second quarter and the visiting Utah Utes rolled after going on a 28-0 run to win 34-17.
Hawaii once again had the late game with this one in Tuscon, Arizona, against the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona made quick work of Hawaii, going into the half up 34-7 and beating the Rainbow Warriors 47-28.
