OGDEN — Weber State men's basketball didn't have to wait to see if it would get into the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats learned their first-round opponent Sunday when the bracket was revealed.

No. 15 seed Weber State will face No. 2 seed Xavier at 7:20 p.m. MT Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in St. Louis. The winner will advance to face the winner of Pittsburgh and Wisconsin.

The Wildcats (26-8) won the Big Sky Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the conference tournament in Reno, Nevada, on Saturday. Weber State, which also won the league's regular-season title, is led by player of the year Joel Bolomboy and sharpshooter Jeremy Senglin.

Bolomboy, the school's all-time rebounding and blocked shots leader, averages a double-double at 17.2 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. The Texas native has taken the Wildcats to new heights, and now has Weber State back in the NCAA Tournament for the 16th time in program history and second time in three years.

Senglin averagea a team-best 18.2 points per game for the Wildcats, who won their three Big Sky tourney games by a combined total of 12 points.

The Musketeers (27-5) are coming off an 87-83 loss to eventual champion Seton Hall in the Big East tournament semifinals. Xavier is led by four double-figure scorers, including Trevon Bluiett's 15.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
