WOODS CROSS — A 90-year-old woman was killed late Monday night after she and her stepson were involved in a car accident, police said.
The woman has been identified as Clearfield resident Arline K. Rhyne.
Just before 11 p.m., Rhyne's stepson, 61, was driving a red 2006 Suzuki Forenza southbound on I-15 near Woods Cross. He took the 500 South exit too fast and went off the road to the left, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
The man attempted to drive the car back onto the roadway, but it rolled. Rhyne, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries during the rollover, and the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to UHP.
According to investigators, there weren't preliminary signs of impairment.
