HEBER CITY — Most missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can only dream about the place in which they will serve, but one sister received her call in the very place she'll soon call her mission.

Utah Rep. Kraig Powell's daughter Jessica recently graduated from high school and is currently teaching English to children at an elementary school in Thailand, according to Powell's Facebook page. When her mission call arrived at her family's home in Utah, she eagerly jumped on Skype to open it.

Instructing her family to cover the page so she'd be the first to read it, Jessica Powell's roommates stood by with a video camera, ready to capture her reaction. As she read on and realized where she'd be serving as a missionary, she was speechless.

"You are assigned to labor in the Thailand Bangkok Mission," she reads, almost incredulously. Immediately her roommates begin to scream, unable to believe that the very place she'd been called was the place they currently called home.

The girls rush to the computer to see for themselves, and the reaction is pretty priceless. Meanwhile, back in Utah, the screams of excitement could probably be heard all the way in Thailand.

Kraig Powell posted the video his daughter's roommates made to Facebook, as well as the one the family made at home. Jessica Powell will report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo in January.

Instead of teaching English, she'll be teaching in Thai.
