PROVO — Brigham Young University and Michigan State University announced Wednesday a home-and-home football series between the two schools.
The Cougars will travel to East Lansing, Michigan, Oct. 8, 2016, and then BYU will host the Spartans at LaVell Edwards Stadium Sept. 12, 2020.
“I’m excited about this series with one of the top programs in the Big Ten,” BYU Athletic Director Tom Holmoe said. “We haven’t played many games in the Great Lakes region, and I like scheduling opponents like Michigan State that we’ve never played in football. It’s exciting for Cougar Nation, and it’s a great experience for our coaches and players.”
BYU’s 2016 schedule now features games against Arizona (Glendale, Arizona); Utah (Salt Lake City); UCLA (Provo); West Virginia (Landover, Maryland); UMass (Provo); Michigan State (East Lansing); Boise State (Boise, Idaho); Cincinnati (Cincinnati); Southern Miss (Provo); and Utah State (Provo).
In 2020, the Cougars have games against Arizona (Provo); Arizona State (Tempe, Arizona); Boise State (Boise); Michigan State (Provo); Northern Illinois (DeKalb, Illinois); Missouri (Provo); Stanford (Palo Alto, California); and Virginia (Provo).
