BOISE, Idaho — Boise State dashed any hopes Utah State had of hosting the Mountain West Conference championship game. The Broncos offense ran all over the Aggie defense en route to a 50-19 victory Saturday night at Albertsons Stadium.

USU couldn't get anything going offensively and the defense couldn't stop the run for the first time all season.

Utah State got off to a rough start with a missed field goal and dug themselves into a early 14-0 hole.

Nobody expected the Utah State defense to allow 34 first half points.

Didn't know exactly what to expect 2night, but the D getting manhandled was among the last things I expected to see. #USU#USUvsBSU#Aggies — Tyson Smith (@tsmith1922) Nov. 30, 2014

The Aggie defense had no answer for BSU running back [Jay Ajayi](http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/517330/jay-ajayi), who had 229 yards rushing and five TDs.

While Utah State had a great season, this loss humbled the fans a little.

This is a reminder of how far the #Aggies still have to go to become the type of program Boise State is. #USUvsBSU — Adam Strong (@AdamStrong21) Nov. 30, 2014

The Aggies finish the regular season 9-4 overall and 6-2 in Mountain West Conference play and will now await a postseason bowl invitation. ![](http://beacon.deseretconnect.com/beacon.gif?cid=231297&pid=4)
