UTAH COUNTY — A motorcyclist who officials say was driving too fast for a tight curve crashed near Sundance Saturday afternoon.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the rider was traveling eastbound on the Alpine Loop between Sundance and Aspen Grove around 1:45 p.m., when he lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown.
The rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head trauma, officials said. He was taken by helicopter to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition.
Drug use is being investigated as a factor in the crash, officials said. There were no passengers.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
