MAESER, Uintah County — A 37-year-old man died when he was thrown from the ATV he was driving Saturday night, police say.
Alan Heiner was found at 2000 N. 3000 West around 9:20 p.m., according to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office.
Heiner failed to negotiate a turn at 2000 North while traveling north on 3000 West, and drove the ATV off the right side of road where he struck multiple signs and rolled at least once, deputies said. Heiner was thrown from the ATV as it rolled.
Deputies said Heiner was not wearing a helmet and speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. An investigation by the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
