LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Gov. Nikki Haley says she would never be leading South Carolina without former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's help.

Haley appeared with Bush during two of her campaign stops Thursday.

At a stop in Lexington, Haley said Bush gave her critical advice when she first thought about running in 2009. After her election, Bush sent staffers to help with her transition.

Haley has concentrated on her official duties for much of her re-election campaign. This was one of her first campaign stops.

This is Bush's first swing since 2012 through this early presidential primary voting state. The former Republican governor has not committed to a 2016 run and has spent this midterm cycle promoting candidates from his base in Florida.
