DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia sheriff says whoever drove by the home of one of his deputies and riddled it with bullets likely knew a law officer lived there because his marked patrol car was parked in the driveway.
Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller said one of the bullets landed in a bed inside the home.
No one was home at the time of the Monday evening shooting near Douglasville, about 20 miles west of Atlanta.
Reward money totaling $12,500 is being offered for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
The shooting comes after several threats against officers nationwide, and separate shootings in July that claimed the lives of three law officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and five police officers in Dallas.
