INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) — State transportation officials are hosting a public meeting next week on plans to build a 3-mile, shared-use path connecting Incline Village to one of Nevada's most popular public beaches on the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
Part of a plan to reduce traffic and ease parking demands at Sand Harbor, the project along State Highway 28 is expected to take two to three years to complete.
The Nevada Department of Transportation will make an information presentation at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chateau in Incline Village on Fairway Boulevard.
Plans call for an underpass to be constructed beneath the highway near the Flume Trail. Two new parking areas also are planned near the Ponderosa Ranch to provide safer parking options for the nearly 1 million recreationists who visit each year.
