DOGGONNIT TOWN — If you are a living creature, you probably use specific tactics to help you stay cool in the summer or warm in the winter.
In Utah’s 70-degree weather Tuesday, maybe you were donning shorts and cotton shirts, but in Wednesday’s snowstorm, you probably opted for boots and a warm sweater.
We as humans make those decisions not only for ourselves, but sometimes for our pets, too. If you have a long-haired cat or a dog that was bred for colder climes (or has hair that’s easily matted), you may opt to have the pet groomer give your pet a “lion cut” to help it stay cool in the summer.
What is a lion cut, you ask? Well, it’s where the bulk of the pet’s body hair is shaved, leaving fur on the head, the paws and the end of the tail. I know, the concept itself sounds hilarious, and it sort of is. But it’s even more hilarious when the groomer does a terrible job of it.
In this video, a dog that I assume was lovingly named Stains, just got home from the groomer with his brand-new lion cut … if you can call it that. Lucky for us, the best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry.
While the cut itself isn’t great, it’s the owner’s reaction that really makes this video special. Let’s just say there’s a lot of hysterical laughter from the poor pup’s owner that you won’t want to miss.
