Outlook

Friday will start off dry with mostly cloudy skies. Winds will pick up in the afternoon as a band of precipitation moves into northern Utah. This band will move south through the Wasatch Front during the later afternoon and evening. Most of the precipitation will taper off Saturday morning, but we'll still keep the chance in the forecast for a few lingering showers. Valley rain totals will mostly remain less than a quarter of an inch. Mountain snow will be wet and dense with accumulations around 4 to 8 inches for the Cottonwoods, less for areas like Snowbasin. The Bear River Range and Western Uintas could get up to a foot. On Sunday, another weak band of valley rain and mountain snow will clip northern Utah. Scattered showers will be possible during the day, and snow levels will likely remain high above 8000ft. Mild temperatures will continue with highs in the mid to upper 50s Friday, near 50 Saturday, then back to the mid 50s Sunday. Record warmth will be possible Monday and Tuesday next week with highs near 60! As we head into the middle of next week, our next storm is slated to move in and this time from the west and south. This will bring valley rain and mountain snow statewide through the holiday. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 12.18.25
