Outlook

With high pressure being the dominant feature across the Desert Southwest again today, we'll see more valley haze with some clouds overhead. Running over the top of that high pressure ridge in the west is a plume of moisture that will bring soaking rains to the west coast, however here in Utah, we will see pulses of energy bring spaced-out rain chances over the next couple of days. A quick moving cold front front Wednesday will kick up some wind that should help break the cap on the inversion, air quality should improve. As far as precipitation is concern, we could see .05-.25" of rain, higher totals north of SLC. Mountains could pick up a few inches of snow. Next storm system, which doesn't look big, will be on Friday night into Saturday. - Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 12.16.25
