Outlook

As high pressure shifts further north Wednesday and Thursday, we'll see some passing clouds in the westerly wind it will set in place. We'll also see another round of some pop-up showers and storms in eastern Utah tomorrow, likely not amounting to much rain, but they could produce some strong wind gusts. Temperatures will continue to climb the next couple of days, peaking on Thursday near 100 degrees in Salt Lake City. If we hit that mark, it'll be the 19th time we've done so this year! As the high shifts eastward at the end of this week, it'll be in a more favorable position to drive in monsoonal moisture. Mountain showers and storms will likely develop Friday and each afternoon through at least Tuesday next week. We have a 30% chance for an isolated storm over the Wasatch Front Friday with slightly higher odds over the weekend! - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 8.18.26
