Outlook

Many areas saw their first freeze this morning, including Salt Lake City with a low of 30 degrees at the airport. Temperatures dropped into the teens along the Wasatch Back and single digits at the top of the mountains! We'll see similar lows tonight, if anything though we may be a touch warmer compared to this morning - but still cold. Quiet weather will ensue locally with highs returning to normal values in the upper 50s near 60 the next few days. With high pressure getting stronger overhead the next few days, expect valley haze to increase gradually each day. We're hoping a cold front that slides through northern Utah Wednesday night into Thursday morning will bring enough cold air aloft to vent out some of the developing haze. As we head into the weekend, highs are expected to climb above normal in the mid 60s with mostly sunny skies. This warmer than normal and quiet pattern is expected to continue through the first half of next week, then changes may arrive for the rest of the week! Whether its a storm or just a cold front, the temperature trends favor cooler temperatures late next week. We'll see! - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 10.28.25
