Outlook

Wednesday will be a gorgeous day, but at times breezy! It'll start off mostly sunny then clouds with thicken up as the day goes on, so becoming mostly cloudy by the evening. Highs will warm into the low 60s tomorrow, then will drop sharply as we head into Thursday. A strong cold front will move into northern Utah late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Heavy precipitation will be likely along this band and there is potential that snow levels could fully collapse to the valleys floors. Given the warm conditions prior to the cold front's arrival, snow may be tough to stick on the valley floors, but under a strong enough storm - it could, so plan some extra time into the morning commute. There looks to be a lull behind the cold front, then some scattered valley rain and mountain snow showers may redevelop Thursday afternoon and evening. On Friday, there's a chance for lake effect snow showers to develop, however, where is uncertain. We'll dry out by Friday evening, and stay that way through the weekend!? Forecast totals right now: northern mountains 5-10", Cottonwoods 10-20", central mountains 6-12", and southern 4-8". Northern valleys trace to 1" and benches 2-4" (locally higher due to lake effect), Wasatch Back 3-6" locally higher in Park City, and central valleys 1-3". Rain totals for the valleys along the I-15 corridor will generally be around .10" to .30", but locally higher between Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Tooele Counties. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 3.3.26
