Outlook
A second storm will come in tonight and will continue through the day Wednesday, bringing elevated winds and widespread snow. We'll see snow redevelop in southwestern Utah tonight (rain in lower Washington County) and will expand east and north overnight. By 4-5am, we're expecting widespread valley and mountain snow for the western 2/3rds of the state. In the afternoon, we'll see snow becoming more showery and broken. We'll see precipitation across the state come to an end by late Wednesday night. Mountain snow forecast totals through Wednesday night: northern mountains 10"-20", Cottonwoods 12"-24", Uinta and central mountains 10"-20", and southern mountains 12"-24". Valley/lower mountain valley forecast totals: northern valleys 1"-3" with locally higher from Ogden to Cache Valley, benches 3"-6", Wasatch back 6"-12", central valleys 3"-6" with up to 8" possible in Cedar City, and southern valleys (excluding lower Washington County and Lake Powell area) 2"-4". Another storm is forecast to slide through the lower third of Utah either Thursday morning or afternoon. This may reach Salt Lake City, but has a better chance from Provo south. It looks like some additional minor accumulations in the valleys will be possible. We'll dry out statewide by Friday afternoon and stay that way through the weekend. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 2.17.26
