SOUTH SALT LAKE — A 45-year-old South Ogden woman died, and another person was injured Sunday night in a car crash on northbound I-15 in South Salt Lake.

The crash happened about 4:28 p.m. on I-15 just past the 3300 South bridge. A collision occurred between a Honda Civic and a Dodge Charger, causing the driver of the Charger, later identified as Erin Bingham, to lose control and roll off the right side of the freeway, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Both occupants of the Charger were ejected in the crash, neither of whom were wearing a seat belt, troopers said. They were taken to a hospital, where Bingham was pronounced dead; the passenger suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The crash prompted closure of the northbound I-15 on-ramp from 3300 for several hours.
