HURRICANE, Washington County — A woman has died after her plane crashed in Washington County Saturday.

At 10:17 a.m., the Consolidated Communication Center for Washington County responded to reports of an aircraft crash south of Hurricane near the Utah-Arizona border. Upon arrival, paramedics confirmed the sole occupant of the aircraft was deceased, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

The pilot of the aircraft was identified as a 40-year-old woman from Boulder City, Nevada. At the family's request, the sheriff's office is not releasing the pilot's name, the release said.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office, along with investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, will continue to lead the investigation into the crash.
