AMERICAN FORK — Search and rescue workers have recovered the body of a 31-year-old paddleboarder from Silver Lake Flat Reservoir in American Fork Canyon.

The man was reported missing at 7 p.m. by a woman who said they had been paddleboarding together with a group of people when he went under the water and didn't resurface, according to Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Ray Ormond.

Sheriff's deputies and several emergency management teams from across the county were dispatched to the lake to help search for the man.

An 8:55 p.m. post on the sheriff's office Facebook page says the man's body had been recovered, but it did not give details about where or when he was found.

"We would like to extend our condolences to the family," the post says.

The sheriff's office did not release the man's name Saturday.
