ST. GEORGE — Three of the top five cities to start a small business in America this year are in southern Utah, according to an annual report from financial advisers at WalletHub. At the top of the list is St. George, followed by Cedar City and Washington, in third and fourth place, respectively.

Holding second and fifth place are Fort Myers, Florida, and Bozeman, Montana.

"Our community's collaborative spirit and proactive approach to economic development make St. George an ideal place for small business success," Mayor Michele Randall said in a recent press release. "This recognition by WalletHub serves as a testament to our ongoing efforts to foster innovation, support entrepreneurs and enhance the overall quality of life for our residents."

WalletHub's annual ranking evaluates over 1,300 small cities across 18 key metrics, including business environment, access to resources and business costs. The high placement of St. George, Cedar City and Washington reflects their robust support for entrepreneurs and thriving economies.
