MAIN STREET — There are certain towns where wildlife makes frequent appearances.
For example, Estes Park is known as the elk capital of the world. Visit this Colorado town and you'll likely see large bulls traipsing through neighborhoods and hanging out in front of the gas station.
The locals are accustomed to seeing all these elk, but visitors — not so much. Sometimes, people get too close to elk for photos and pay the price, or they don't give them adequate time to cross the street and get their vehicle rammed.
You've probably seen other towns that get frequent visitors/ From eagles to polar bears, certain cities get you closer to animals. But I've never seen anything like what occurs in this video.
Those are Galápagos sea lions scrambling up the main drag of Ecuador's San Cristóbal Island. Even if you've become accustomed to seeing deer, elk, eagles or manatees in your town, it would probably be startling to walk out of a gift shop on San Cristóbal Island and see a trio of massive sea lions heading straight toward you.
I assume the Galápagos sea lion is a friendly creature by nature, but these three sea lions look like they're on a very serious mission. And it's never a good idea to get in the way of an animal on a mission.
