(KSL News) The case against accused kidnapper Brian David Mitchell has been moved into federal court. Yesterday a judge ordered Mitchell to appear before a U.S. District Court on Monday.
Federal charges were first filed against Mitchell in 2002 in connection with the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, but prosecutors decided to hold off prosecution until a state case was completed. However, that case has stalled due to competency issues.
