SALT LAKE CITY — A major power outage hit Salt Lake City, West Valley City, and Magna Thursday night, causing more than 62,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers to lose power. The outage occurred around 10:45 p.m.
Traffic lights were also out throughout Salt Lake City, causing traffic issues.
Rocky Mountain Power was investigating the cause of the outage and is estimating to get the power back on around 4:30 a.m. on Friday.
There was also a power outage in Tooele that at one point affected about 1,000 Rocky Mountain customers Thursday night.
