Parts of Parley's Canyon will be closed for 24 hours during two weekends this month. The city is trying to keep people in town those weekends by offering up some deals.

To replace the Mountain Dell and Lamb's Canyon bridges, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will close westbound lanes in Parley's Canyon on Saturday afternoon for 24 hours, then it will do the same for the eastbound lanes on the following weekend.

"We're aware that this is going to be a difficult time for a lot of travelers," explained Stephanie Nitsch, with the Park City Chamber of Commerce.

Nitsch says the chamber has put out the call to local businesses to offer deals those weekends for people to either come up early and stay the weekend or for those travelers who get stuck in town.

"The businesses have been really receptive," Nitsch said.

Those offering I-80 closure specials range from hotels to restaurants, and even the Utah Olympic Park.
